Version Control of Descriptor Packages
This feature enhances the ability to copy a package and then modify and export that new package. This new process is SOL001 compliant because any modification of the VNFD package results in a new VNFD with a new VNFD identifier.
Copy and Modify a VNFD package
It is necessary to make a copy of a VNFD prior to making modifications to that package. When a user copies a VNFD, it creates a new package with a new version.

Sign in to the Launchpad Dashboard.

On the Launchpad Dashboard menu, click CATALOG and then click the
icon next to the network service descriptor that you want to copy. -
Click
and provide the following information (fields with * are required):-
NAME* – Name of the descriptor copy.

VERSION* – Version of the descriptor.

VENDOR – Vendor information.

Click CREATE. The copy appears in the Job Tracker.

Click Open Package.
The 1.1 copy opens in the Catalog. The user can edit any of the parameter for this description.

For example, click the VDU and change the name of the image from xenial-ping-amd64.img to xenial-ping-amd64_V2.img.

Export a VNFD package from the Catalog Tab

On the Launchpad Dashboard menu, click CATALOG and then click the
icon next to the copied network service descriptor. -

3. Choose the YES radio button next to INCLUDE CHANGELOG and click EXPORT to export the descriptor.
After clicking export, the Job Tracker displays the copied package.

Click Download Package and choose the way that you’d like to open the exported package.

Click OK to open the zip file and the Downloads folder opens.
The exported catalog item is saved to your default download location with the following filename convention:
RevisionLog.txt.

Open the RevisionLog.txt file.
The file displays what you modified in step 6 of the Copy and Modify a VNFD package section. In this RevisionLog.txt file, the image name changes from xenial-ping-amd64.img to xenial-ping-amd64_V2.img.
