Software Engineer

RIFT is seeking Software Engineers with proven experience developing and maintaining highly scalable distributed application software. As a member of the RIFT engineering team you will collaborate with a team of designers, front-end engineers, and back-end / network engineers to add critical features to the RIFT.ware Network Function Virtualization Management and Orchestration platform. The platform enables network service providers to manage catalogs of virtualized network functions, control lifecycle operations of the services, and monitor millions of data points flowing through complex topologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design the highly distributed, highly scalable orchestration platform
• Develop features for the virtualized network function orchestration application
• Collaborate with internal and external developers to contribute software to the Open Source MANO project
• Work with product managers, designers, and quality engineers in cross functional teams to develop application requirements and solutions
• Ensure code quality by participating in code reviews, writing unit tests, and helping QA and automation develop tests
• Communicate progress in an agile environment with team members spread across multiple geographies.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years experience in a principal engineer role
• Hands on development experience in multiple languages including Python and C
• Good understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous programming
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as OpenStack.
• Experience with SDN implementations such as OpenDaylight/FloodLight/Ryu
• Experience in Yang, Netconf and CMake is a plus.
• MS or BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
